Welcome to the Hampstead Farmers' Market

The Hampstead Farmers' Market ended its' 2014 season on Saturday, September 27, 2014, with tons of fun!  The summer Market will re-open on Saturday, June 6, 2015, for its 6th exciting season!  Hours of operation are 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.  The Market is located at 1341 N. Main Street, Hampstead, MD 20174, on the carnival grounds of the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Department.

Plans are being made for the 2nd Annual Hampstead Farmers' Market Christmas Market, which will be sponsored again this year by the Hampstead Train Station!  It will be located on the first floor of the former Hampstead Art House, 1216 N. Main Street in Hampstead.  Dates of the Christmas Market are:

Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4 pm to 8 pm  (same night as the Tree Lighting ceremony, which is at 6:45 pm)

Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 10 am to 5 pm

Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 12 noon to 5 pm

Come and get your Christmas shopping done early this year!  You know you always say you want to be finished by Thanksgiving -- so here's your chance!  Sixteen of the Market's summer vendors will have amazing products suitable for Christmas gift-giving!  Fragrant soaps, baked goods, wines, wood crafts, glassware, crocheted items, soy candles, and so much more!  Join the fun!

What an amazing year 2014 has been for the Hampstead Farmers' Market!  We identified Darla Miller of Hampstead as the Market's 15,000th customer on September 20, and had great fun watching as elected officials got a little wet for a good cause during Sen. Joe Getty's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  Special guests OJ and Chanda Brigance were awesome, and such an inspiration.  A day we won't soon forget!

                 LOCAL!             SEASONAL!            FRESH!

That is what the Hampstead Farmers' Market is -- Local!   Seasonal!  and Fresh!

But what does that mean?  Well, at the Hampstead Farmers' Market, it means that if our local farmers do not grow it, you will not find it here.  If it is not yet in season, you will not find it here.  Several of our farmers are not even here yet because their crops are not ready.  Remember how rainy it was in the Spring?  Well, that affected the planting schedule for farmers.

Our local farmers are from Carroll County, Baltimore County and Lower Pennsylvania.  When they have eggplant, tomatoes and corn, then YOU will have it.  There's a "What's in Season" tab here on the website.  Check it out!

Don't see what you want at the Market?  Ask us!

We want to welcome the following new vendors who have committed to the entire 2014 Hampstead Farmers' Market season:

Connie and Rob Grill of Faithful Friends Farm on Black Rock Road will offer fresh eggs (from their 300 chickens!), broilers, and fresh garden herbs.

Larry and Caroline Foreman of Hampstead make beautifully scented soaps that are packaged ready for gift-giving!

Juliana Dixon of Spoutwood Farm in Glen Rock, PA, will offer produce, snowfruit, and value-added products from the farm.

Shirley Sill of Upperco hand makes fragrant soy candles and is eager to explain the benefits of soy candles to her customers.

Matthew and Lisa Myers of Maple Grove Road in Hampstead are the "berry" people this year!  They will offer strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, currants, and other produce from their farm.

Everblossom Farm from East Berlin, PA, is the Hampstead Market's first certified organic produce vendor.  Come and welcome owner and farmer, Elaine Lemmon (and her lovely assistant, Kelly) to Hampstead!

And last, but not least, make sure you visit our new breakfast vendor, Ms. Kelly Carey, owner and operator of "Dewey's Dogs."  Kelly will offer hotdogs, breakfast sausage, snacks and beverages.

Now, remember, friends, all of our vendors are not able to attend every Saturday, so if one of your favorites is missing any given morning, don't fret -- they'll be back!
