Welcome to the Hampstead Farmers' Market

Many, many thanks to the over 1,500 customers who shopped during our third annual "Farm to Fork" Day on August 22!  We were treated to an amazing cooking demonstration by Chef Brooke Hagerty of Bud's at Silver Run Restaurant, who used many of our vendors' produce, meat and baked goods to show how to prepare "fresh from the farm" products.  Brooke will be returning to the Market on September 5 and 19, selling her delicious soups from "The Food Chick" table.  We welcome her!

Thanks also to Dan Ortel, owner and trainer at SNAP Fitness in Hampstead, who spent the morning demonstrating easy techniques to keep us fit and trim!  And thanks, too, to Melanie Berdyck of Carroll Hospital Center, who provided nutrition information on healthy eating and proper portion sizing.

The Hampstead Farmers' Market is open for its sixth exciting season!  Hours of operation are 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, every Saturday, June through September.  The Market is located at 1341 N. Main Street, Hampstead, MD 20174, on the carnival grounds of the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Department.

Businesses interested in supporting the Hampstead Farmers' Market through banner ads on this website should contact Marlene at 443-821-1339.

                    LOCAL!             SEASONAL!            FRESH!

That is what the Hampstead Farmers' Market is -- Local!   Seasonal!  and Fresh!

But what does that mean?  Well, at the Hampstead Farmers' Market, it means that if our local farmers do not grow it, you will not find it here.  If it is not yet in season, you will not find it here.  Several of our farmers are not even here yet because their crops are not ready.  Remember how rainy it was in the Spring?  Well, that affected the planting schedule for farmers.

Our local farmers are from Carroll County, Baltimore County and Lower Pennsylvania.  When they have eggplant, tomatoes and corn, then YOU will have it.  There's a "What's in Season" tab here on the website.  Check it out!

Don't see what you want at the Market?  Ask us!

We want to welcome the following new vendors who have committed to the entire 2015 Hampstead Farmers' Market season:

Debbie Ditman, of "Pins and Needles" in Manchester, will offer beautifully hand-sewn purses, aprons, dust cloths, wreaths, and many other creative crafts!  Debbie will be located on the parking lot side of the field.

Guy Garey, of "Big Guy's Treats" in Manchester, will have refreshingly cool shaved ice treats and beverages during the hot summer Market mornings.  Look for Guy's snowball truck parked on the fence side of the field.

Java Vault Cafe of Manchester will be offering hot and cold brewed coffee, bagels and cream cheese, oatmeal, yogurt parfaits, and incredible hand-made doughnuts!  Ed, Sharon and Logan Wun are excited to provide our customers with these light breakfast offerings this season.  You'll find them located in the center of the field.

Suzanne Kassel of Owings Mills is bringing a unique baked treat to this year's Market -- mondel bread.  It's like a soft biscotti and is delicious.  Suzanne's "Mondel Broad Bakery" table will be located on the parking lot side of the field.

The Market Managers and Advisory Team sincerely welcomes each of these new vendors in 2015!  They will each add a unique feature to the Market this season, and continue our tradition of only offering the best, freshest, and most creative local products available.  Stop by to say "Hello" to them next time you shop!

Now, remember, friends, all of our vendors are not able to attend every Saturday, so if one of your favorites is missing any given morning, don't fret -- they'll be back!

What an amazing year 2014 was for the Hampstead Farmers' Market!  We identified Darla Miller of Hampstead as the Market's 15,000th customer on September 20, and had great fun watching as elected officials got a little wet for a good cause during Sen. Joe Getty's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  Special guests OJ and Chanda Brigance were awesome, and such an inspiration.  A day we won't soon forget!
